Sony Ericsson W800i Mobile phone review
Weighing in at a mere 99 g and measuring 100 x 46 x 21 mm, the W800i
is both slim and light considering its heavy feature set. The first phone
to carry Sony’s Walkman brand, and does so proudly. The larger memory
means more songs but still with features galore, just as before.
The clear message is that this is both a phone and an MP3 player. The
W800i is the first handset made by anyone to carry Sony prestigious Walkman
branding.
Included in the Sony Ericsson W800i is a Top Song of All Time Global
Search Feature, you can now search through the worlds top 100 songs and
find your favourite song, such as "Born in the USA".
The Sony Ericsson W800i is equipped with a two-megapixel auto-focus camera
with an active lens cover and digital still camera interface.
The W800i also comes with a 2MP digital camera and the screen has 176x220
pixels. Other features include: FM radio, 34MB internal memory, USB, iR,
and Bluetooth. It boasts up to 30 hours of MP3 playback and a whopping
512MB Memory Stick is thrown in for storage. It also sports a 2-megapixel
camera for video and stills.
The Walkman branded Sony Ericsson W800i comes highly recommended not
only for youth, but for everyone in need of a brilliant combination of
mobile phone, digital camera and portable music player.
The features and function make it a very good mobile phone regardless
of the music functions although the snazzy electric orange paint job and
the Walkman logo certainly make the W800i distinctive.
The handset is well built the screen is the same as that in the K750 and
the overall quality and feel is superb. To be honest, apart from the energetic
color tone of vanilla white, orange and a few markings of the Walkman
logo all around to adequately give the W800i its Walkman endorsement,
there really isn't much to separate the W800i and K750 at face value alone.
